Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) methods are the most reliable way a woman can protect herself from unplanned pregnancy

You don’t have to think about them every day or every time you have sex. LARC methods do not protect against STIs, so always use a condom too.

LARC methods are an alternative to the contraceptive pill. They offer the same level of protection against pregnancy that the pill does (over 99%) but they don’t need to be taken every day and can last for anything from 12 weeks to 10 years. Some LARC methods may also reduce or stop periods.
