Summer Lovin'

March 2012

With summer coming up, you might be thinking about going travelling abroad or taking a holiday with your friends. With this in mind, it’s sensible to also be thinking about your contraception options and which method would work best for you.

Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) is a good option so that you don’t have to take any contraceptive pills on your travels. There are lots of types, such as the implant and the contraceptive injection.

In some countries around the world it might be more difficult to access contraception than here in the UK. Using a LARC method would mean that you wouldn’t have to worry about finding a sexual health clinic or GP to get extra pills or emergency contraception.

Remember, although LARC methods protect against unplanned pregnancy, they don’t protect against STIs, so you should always use a condom as well.
