Young parents in Worcestershire were encouraged to consider opportunities in education, training or employment at an event held at Connexions in Worcester recently.
Specialist Connexions Advisers for Young Parents were on hand to provide information on a wide range of issues, including the Care to Learn grant, which helps to cover the costs of childcare while young parents attend education or training and Homestart, which helps to increase independence amongst families with young children.
The event also gave an opportunity for young parents to support each other and take part in makeover and hair and beauty sessions, with face painting activities for their children.

Julia Foster, Connexions Worcester City Personal Adviser, said: “We’re delighted that so many young parents from across Worcestershire were able to come along to the event and speak to representatives of a range of different agencies available to support them.
“With the advice and information available on the day, we hope they were able to take away some useful ideas and tools to make an informed choice on their next steps that will help to build a positive future for both themselves and their families.”
